Hey!! Guess what! I finally watched POTO!!! Last night. I have rather mixed feelings about it. It was good, yes I *loved* it, well not as strongly as lotr ofcourse;) lol but it wasn't as good I dont' think as a lot of ppl have been telling me. I think it'll grow on me, lol. The singing was very good, but sometimes it seemed like it was a little weak, like w/ the Phantom, he was a little weak on the upper octaves, but how many guys can sing well up there? Yes, I know Betsy, you're probably screaming your head off at me right now. Prepare for more screaming...lol. I wasn't entirely sure what the plot was and what all was going on for the first hour-ish of the movie, but i suppose that's the point (I'd never known much about POTO before I watched it, so I didnt' really have much background info). I wasn't entirely sure who the old man and old lady were (the black and white parts of the story) I think they were the phantom and Christine, but the man's face wasn't messed up anymore so I wasn't sure, and the lady seemed to have light colored hair, and Christine's hair is dark and curly. Also I don't think Raoul was all that bad as you seem to think, Betsy. I like both the Phantom and Raoul, perhaps the Phantom slightly over Raoul, but Raoul's cuter....lol, but the long hair...YUCK!!! lol. But I don't know why you despise him so much, he's the good guy ya know. Oh, and also, I decided my *character* assesment..lol of the Phantom involves him being spoiled and selfish and when he doesn't get his way he throws major temper tantrums. But he didn't have a great child hood, so I can understand his wanting someone to love him. But whenever we did get a full look at his face, he wasn't THAT bad, like I suppose ppl might get a little freaked out upon first sight, but they'd get used to it, and it just looked like he might have had third degree burns or something. I'm sorry, I sound like I hate it don't I...lol. I really don't I thought it was very good and I'd love to see it on Broadway. *sigh* anyway, I'll have to discuss it in more detail w/ you sometime, Betsy, since I've seen it now. Aren't you proud of me? lol. Steph loves POTO by the way, and likes Raoul and the song he sang to Christine when he proposed or whatever on the rooftop.

A couple weeks ago I saw the movie for the first time. I really loved the movie...it has great singing/acting, the plot is SO COOL and everything in general rocks. I love eric/the phantom cause to me he is like a perfect guy - dark, evil, crule, kind, loving and he can sing and write songs, what more could a girl want.
The one thing that I didn't like about it was the fact that there was so much singing. I know its a musical but still! I LOVE Moulin Rouge (spelt wrong?), they had a perfect combination of singing and talking. POTO went a little over bored *singing* "I need to go to the washroom"..it was a little much at times.
But I still LOVE that movie! It rocks!

G is for Gerard Butler (played Phantom/ERic in the movie) Erik is for...erik lol...and a Gerik is a Gerard Butler/Erik/Phantom *Phan* (yes, Betsy I used correct termonology this time:P lol).

lol yes, join the club. He can't really sing but he can act! Which was really a surprise for me considering Andrew Lloyd Webbers standers
