Elensar softly clicked her tongue, making her black stallion trot. The first gate of Minis Tirith loomed above her. Glancing above her, she didn't see the guard suddenly step in front of her, barring her way.
"Who are you, and what is you business." He asked with mock sternness.
Elensar smiled broadly, "Anborn, how good to see you. Have you forgotten me already?"
"Of course not milady," he bowed and then saluted. "Travel on fair maiden! Till our next meeting!"
Elen raised her eyebrow, that was a new one. Anborn was a long time acquaintance and friend. He was enamored with her, but it simply couldn't be. Besides, Elen had already given her heart to another. After declining dinner and promising Anborn to visit him, "after she took care of some business," Elensar rode on.
Two hours and a hot bath later. Elensar was wandering around, searching for a sign. She didn't know what exactly it was, but a note under her door in her Inn room had told her to go to the area surrounding the 3rd gate and wait for the sign to appear. This sign she mused, must be about the assassin. This assassin, she had been told, was very dangerous, he worked expertly and cleanly, unfortunately for his victims. Then her attention was averted from her thoughts to a small child, hardly older than eight, coming directly towards her.
"Are you Elensar?" She asked shyly.
Elen smiled and replied, "Yes I am."
"Then this is for you." handing her a note and skittering away.
The note read:
Elensar,
The assassin is located the Briar Inn room 4 on the 2nd level. Go there now, someone will meet you there and assist you in the capture.
a friend
Finally coming to the Inn, she entered, and found room 4. A figure was waiting in the shadows. The figure came forward, Elen held her breath but soon smiled as she saw who it was.
"Anborn! Why are you here?" She whispered
"I'm to assist you. I'll tell you more later."
Elensar shrugged, "follow me."
Inside the Inn, Elen touched the hilt of her sword. Gracefully, she almost glided up the stairs. When they reached the room, Elensar grasped the doornob ready to open it. But before she could, the opened itself to reveal a woman, of elven kind!? Shocked, Elensar could hardly speak. This was the assassin?
